Hello,

I have many layers of questions, so I’ll start at the beginning:
I have a Shopify store and am using Printful as my supplier. Via Sales Channels in Shopify, I have created my Facebook Shop. Works fine.

I had previously installed the Facebook Marketing App, which created a second catalog in Facebook. I have since deleted the app and associated catalog in Facebook.

(BTW – not crazy that I can’t access my catalog in Facebook Business Manager as apparently Shopify “owns” the catalog. I’ll leave that for another dayJ)

My challenge: I want to create a Facebook Product Catalog Ad Campaign.

During the ad set creation, when I select All Products from my list of collections, it brings over all of the variations (all sizes and all colours of same product). This means there are 4000+ variations of images/ads running for approx. 100 products. Totally not necessary and a waste of budget.

My solution: I created a csv file of just the items I wanted to show in my ads. I don’t care about the various colours or sizes, as this can be selected once they land on my site. I ran into a long delay in trying to figure out how to configure the shipping attribute column for free shipping, but did manage to figure it out.

I think I have it working now, but man-oh-man – it took me over a week to get this working.

I can’t see any way via the Shopify/Facebook integration to make the products in the Facebook catalog to not show all of the variations.

Does anyone else in the group have any experience with this? I am happy to share my process (once my eyes stop bleeding) but I’d like to know if there is a better way. I’m not convinced I’ve nailed the process yet!

I think that if you go to your Facebook catalog you can create product sets by selecting the exact products you want. the advertise the product set.

If the catalog is owned by Shopify then you may have to add a new product feed to create a catalog that your page owns then go from there.
