Hello!

I have started building the product page.

1 product has 35 variants (5 sizes, 7 colours)

How can i have the swatches for each colour variant to be solid square colour boxes?

And do I need to upload product images for every single variant including for each size?

For example, black tshirt - do i need to upload the black t shirt images on every single size ST - 2XLT or not?

Thanks in advance for your quick reply.

Thanks

Ben

Hi Ben,

Katrine from Plak Theme support here,

Did you already enable the variant to show as swatches from the theme editor ?

By default the swatch buttons on Plak theme render the variant image to avoid generating a non standard color for example (black silver)

if you would like to use boxed color swatches instead of the variant image, I invite to follow these steps :

  • From your Shopify dashboard, click Online store > Actions > Edit code
  • Open the file swatch.liquid
  • Replace the entire content of swatch.liquid with the content in this file
  • Click Save

Now, the swatch buttons will show the variant color name without the need to upload an image for each color.

For the color options you have, you can either let the smartness of the script provide a color for you, or you can upload an image that represents that color.

For example:

  • If you have a color called 'Déjà Vu Blue', then name your image deja-vu-blue.jpg
  • If your color is 'Blue/Gray', then name your image blue-gray.jpg
  • If your color is 'Black', then name your image black.jpg

How to upload a special color image ?

  1. From your Shopify admin dashboard, click online store > Actions > Edit code
  2. Under the Assets heading, click the Add a new asset link.
  3. Upload your image.

Let me know if it worked for you and if you need any further help 🙂
