Hi,
Is there a way to upload a video from my computer, on the product description without affecting SEO and the speed of the site?

Katrine here, a Shopify expert from Plak support,
In order to embed a video into your Product page while mainting a great loading speed and add ALT TEXT for better SEO ranking, please follow these steps.

1- Upload the video
- From your Shopify dashboard, click Settings > Files
- Click Upload file (as per today, the maximum file size allowed is 20mb)
- Once the file is uploaded, copy its URL

2- Insert the video code
- Go to your product page
- On the text editor, click on <> to switch to the HTML editor
- Past this code where you would like the video to appear

<source src="YOUR-VIDEO-URL-HERE">

- Replace YOU-VIDEO-URL-HERE with your actual video URL, YOUR-ALT-TEXT-HERE with your desired ALT TEXT, and POSTER-IMAGE-URL-HERE with your desired poster image
- Click Save
For speed purpose, the video will not be preloaded, and the poster will be blank, this is why you will need to add an image as a poster and add ALT TEXT to it to be recognized by search engines.
The rendering will look like this one below.
